Medical Care is an important facet of positive health care and safe motherhood. Medical Care will include
1.Regular Medical Checkups.
2.Sonography.
3.Laboratory tests.
4.Special tests as advised by doctors.
5.Medicines and Vaccination.

Regular Medical Checkup Is compulsory and  necessary for pregnant women. It ensures ;

1.Health assessment of the mother and identification of risk factors.
2.Confirmation of maturity by ultrasound.
3.Good health and safety for Mother & Child.
4.Detection of impaired fetal growth, pregnancy induced hypertension, Anemia, malpresentation and suspected disproportion.
5.An active health education program and instruction in parent craft


Number of visits to doctors
1.Once during 1st  trimester.
2.Once a month up to 7 months.
3.Once in 15 days during 8th and 9th month.
4.Once every week after 9 months till delivery.
5.Post - natal check- up for 1 to 1 – 1/2 month after delivery.

Rapport with Doctors

  • It is important to develop confidence and good rapport through straight and detailed communication with Doctor.
  • It you tend to forget write down your questions as they keep coming up
  • It can be useful to familiarize yourself with hospital, staff, labor room etc. during pregnancy

SUPPLEMENTS

  • For best results you should take them as advised by doctor.
  • Folic Acid
  • Multivitamin and Mineral
  • Iron

EXPECTED DUE DATE
Conception usually occurs between nine and 18 days after the start of your Last period.
Pregnancy is not dated from the time of fertility or sexual intercourse.
You will be considered four weeks pregnant when you miss your first period. Pregnancy is dated 40 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period. For counting due date add nine moths & seven days to LMP date
