Corporate Health Wellness for Food & Beverage Industry

Awareness about health and wellness of the general masses is on a rise.  More and more people are now looking at options of making their food healthier and consuming such foods and drinks which don’t interfere with their wellbeing.  Given the state of affairs, the food and beverage industry has had to get into action and concede to the demands of the market.  Some have got into producing healthy and diet food items but then attracting consumer confidence has been difficult given the other health related issues with such diet products.  On the other hand, some members of the industry have planned to launch campaigns on health awareness as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. However, the execution and the expertise required while dealing with health and wellness has caused a hindrance.

Under such trying circumstances, Dr. Meena Shah has been able to provide respite to all her clients from the industry.  Being a health consultant, she knows the intricacies of health and wellness and can talk about matters of complexity with some amount of ease.  Her control over Hindi, Gujarati and English makes her instantly connect with the audience.  Also, her simplicity in explaining scientific health related topics has got her the accolades of viewers and the clients alike.  These qualities of hers have blended her into a perfect recipe for the success of health campaigns of any member of the food and beverage industry.  She provides her clients with innovative options of reaching out to the target group.  Being a third party coupled with the fact that she is a doctor, makes her eligible to talk to the public about new health products and their advantages as also the campaigns that have been launched by the industry and its members.  She is a known personality because of her frequent appearance on various media vehicles and that also adds up as an advantage.

SOME SUCCESS STORIES

  1. Amul Limited: Dr. Meena Shah’s work with Amul Ltd. is a prime example of her versatility in dealing with the food & beverage industry.  She launched the idea of printing a booklet on recipes made through ‘Amul Lite’, a low-fat, low-calorie and low-cholesterol bread spread.  This helped the brand reach to the consumers and build their confidence.  This was complemented with a series of health and wellness related videos that were made specifically for Amul to be uploaded on Amul TV.  Such videos guided the brand on enhancing its already strong reputation of being socially conscientious.
  2. Zydus Cadila SugarFree: Although Zydus Cadila is a Pharmaceutical Company; it made an entry into the Food & Beverage Industry by the launch of ‘SugarFree’, its diet substitute to sugar.  Being a new product, SugarFree was facing the challenge of establishing itself in the market and more importantly attracting consumer confidence.  It was at this juncture when the company decided to rope in Dr. Meena Shah.  She, with her understanding of the market, recommended the use of recipes to promote the new product.  She prepared a series of lip smacking recipes which were all cooked with minimal calories through the use of SugarFree.  This innovative technique worked wonders for the company and the product.  A similar strategy was also used for ‘Nutralite’, Zydus Cadila’s diet substitute to butter.
